In some ways, talking about staying spiritually encouraged seems self-indulgent. In others, it feels like the kind of thing that should come naturally to those of us following Jesus in this world. Both are traps designed to lure us away from the truth of Proverbs 4. When our hearts our strong, courageous, and encouraged, we live with passion and intentionality. But when we neglect our hearts and operate from a place of discouragement, we settle for just making it through the day.
